“If the only prayer you ever say is Thank you, ..

“If the only prayer you ever say is Thank you, that will be enough”

– Eckhart Tolle

Yesterday was a beautiful morning. I was going for a nice long beach walk at Eagle Beach. I was doing my normal routine, which is picking up plastic at the seashore to prevent it from falling in the ocean. I love this early time at the beach, it is so peaceful. Only a few people were walking and only a few swimmers in the ocean. Pelicans and seagulls flying by. I adore Aruba’s azure blue clear ocean that I know so well. It is magical. This particular morning I am in a silent space and totally in a place of peace, picking up plastic cups and bags,  while greeting the beach walkers.

flyingfishThere is a gentlemen exercising on the beach and we greet each other with  “Good morning.” and he sees me picking up a cup and says: “THANK YOU.”  I say: “You are  welcome and THANK YOU, too.”

It felt good to totally receive that thank you without having conflicting thoughts like “Why doesn’t he pick up a cup?” or “Everyone is trashing the beach.”  It was a moment of beautiful connection where we both expressed our gratitude for nature.

The man wishes me a good week and I say: “You too.” And as I turn my head towards the ocean I see a school of shiny fish jump up from the water and down again together, and another time up and down. It is brilliant and magical how they flow together in one wave at that exact moment of perfect balance and harmony.. Together they jump in harmony; together they shine.  It was a glorious moment that touched my soul. I have so much gratitude for being able to witness it.

Saying “Thank You” to myself  and “Thank You” to others  for taking care of our natural world, creates the same sense of harmony and balance of the beautiful school of fish jumping the ocean water.
